Experiencing Mission as a Family!

Ronnie DavisLife of Mission, San Diego, Why We Do What We Do

Over the years, we have seen a very exciting trend of churches who would like to involve not just one group from their church, but their whole church on mission.  We have had the joy of hosting many family mission trip teams made up of families with moms, dads and kids of all ages.  While family mission trips don’t work for everyone, or even in all of our cities (due to the nature of the city and ministry, we don’t host family trips in New Orleans), they are an incredible opportunity for the entire family to serve together, learn together and develop a heart for the mission of God as a whole family.  What an incredible blessing for parents and students to see each others faith lived out in tangible ways and to see each other rely on Christ in the context of pursuing God’s mission.  And beyond that, the long term blessings of these trips are incredible.  The testimonies from our teams are that the relationships are strengthened between students and their parents.  Additionally, we have found that the convictions that have formed in the lives of Kaleo participants during their trip don’t diminish, but are even strengthened, as the whole family becomes more committed to the mission of God.

While San Diego is open to all ages, it is a great city to bring groups of families to serve!
