Something that I have always struggled with is wanting to have full control of my life. When I’m not in control I have mini melt downs. I think everything is going to go wrong because I don’t have control. I lack faith and trust in the God that has never failed me. I think the plans I have for my life are greater than the plans He has. God has proved me wrong a number of times and yet I still lack faith in Him.

While leading a bible club at a local family homeless shelter, God gave me the reminder that I needed. I was watching as one of the boys was writing on the sidewalk with chalk. He wrote: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, and that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.” As I stood there watching him I was reminded of childlike faith. I was reminded of Matthew 18:3-5, And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”

God has given me a passion for children. He has used children to show me my calling, and now He has used a child to remind me to always have trust in Him. He has used a child to remind to have faith in Him and His word. He has used a child to remind me that I am not alone.

Having childlike faith brings so much joy to your everyday life. I want to feel the same joy towards Christ as I did as a child. By giving Him my full trust and having faith in Him, I can have that joy. By having childlike faith, I can have a better relationship with my Lord and Savior. By living life with childlike faith, I can have full trust in that plan that God has for me, because His plan is perfect.

And He said to them, “Because you trust so little. Amen, I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
